Anti Wrinkle Treatment

What is it?

Botox is an FDA approved neuromodulator made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is a safe, effective treatment to combat signs of ageing, in particular lines and wrinkles. It is currently the most popular non surgical cosmetic treatment with over 6 million treatments per year administered worldwide. It works by temporarily inhibiting muscle movement in localised areas of the face which in turn reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles in the skin.

As well as reducing lines and wrinkles, Botox has many other uses. It can lift the corners of the mouth that sag with age, smooth out a dimpled chin, soften smoker's lines around the mouth, and soften and lift a sagging neck and jawline (Nefertiti neck lift). It can also treat conditions such as excessive sweating, migraines and teeth clenching and grinding. Furthermore, it can have a slimming effect to the lower half of the face, also known as jawline slimming and reduce gum visibility when smiling (gummy smile).

After treatment, the effects usually begin to show within 3 days but can take up to 2 weeks to see the full result.
